Is the price first priority-uncertainties of health care system

Medical tourism is developing tremendously , but  it ran unexpected results  from the destination or hospital sites as well. "Everyone expected that facilatitors  would clearly see underservice in the destinational hospital service areas. But when we looked at the data, we found tremendous variation in every aspect of healthcare delivery, even among countries  served by JCI hosppitals. We found when we compared healthcare in the Thailand and India served by some of the famous medical tourism hospitals in the world exists varieties

The uncertainty of  healthcare quality of medical tourism is the variation on the use of medical care that cannot be explained on the basis of illness, but illustrated by the quality of healthcare, culture and languages issues. We have categorized three types of uncertainties: 1) the quality of facility; 2) doctors' capability to the quality of care; 3) the diversities of local culture, and 4) the international communication skills of healthcare professionals.

Identifying and measuring The uncertainty of  healthcare quality of medical tourism is the variation on the use of medical care that cannot be explained on the basis of illness, but illustrated by the quality of healthcare, culture and languages issues. We have categorized three types of uncertainties: 1) the quality of healthcare facility; 2) doctors' capability to the quality of care; 3) the diversities of local culture, and 4) the international communication skills of healthcare professionals.

The first step is to understand the four major categories of uncertainties:
  1. The quality of healthcare facility Many facilities have dedicated to JCI accreditation. But does it  really  mean the quality of the healthcare facility? Accreditation holds just once in years, there are many standard charts and patients during committee members  visiting  Approved by accreditation means no matter in hardware software of the facility has matched certain quality. It doesn't mean 100 percent of the quality of care.
  1. The doctors' capability to the quality of care. Do doctors practicing in JCI hospitals mean the best of the specialists? We are sure there is not equivalent between those. For example, some cardiovascular specialists might be the best of stenting in the bloodstream, but they might not be the best choice of valve replacement.Knowing what's the strength of the specialists is that every single patient need. Who would provide this information?
  1. The diversity of local culture. Travelling in another country for medical purpose is not easy. Suffering from disease and encountering different lifestyle at the same time might drive us crazy. For example, thumbs up means differently in Italy from other countries. Food management is different from country to another country. All of the theses could make us feel worse when we are not used to them.
  1. The international communication skills of healthcare professionals. Most of the doctors providing international healthcare services can speak fluently English for sure. But there are still other healthcare professionals providing services to us too. If they can not talk to us freely, that would be a big problem for patients.

In summary, looking for medical treatment in another country might save your money, but cost your energy in many ways. Choose cautiously is the only way.
