Sniffing might be lethal~~ Carotid artery wrapped by cancer nasal pharyngeal carcinoma

This picture was taken from Mr. Chen, suffered by nasal pharyngeal carcinoma 5 years ago. Chen is a bus driver, found nasal pharyngeal in 2009. Even though he was compliant with all treatment courses, the carcinoma came back to him three times, and got deeper tissue every time.  At the recently re-currency, the tumor wrapped around the carotid artery as shown in the picture.

He Won Three Battles

Chen found two nodules on his neck and diagnosed as nasal pharyngeal carcinoma stage 2  five years ago. Supported by his wife and children , he went through  all of the uncomfortable of 36 times , oral ulcer, sore throat and swollen difficulty. H e won the first battle with the tumor.

After 2 years follow up, his enemy was coming back. He won the battle by radiotherapy and went through all side effect as well, just like osteomyelitis  , headache and rhino-discharge . Finally , Chen won again.

The tumor hit Chen again just short time after second battle. Tumor wrapped internal carotid artery this time. That meant if he sniff, he would die for massive internal bleeding from internal carotid artery.Doctor said the tumor just like criminal hidden in dark place. Surgeon did the surgery by endosccope and navigation system in a minimally invasive surgery . Those cause nerve and vessel injured free. After the surgery, it has been more than 1 year. With taking medication follow up, he is still free from the recurrent sign.
